The Kopeng Area in the Semarang District

Kopeng is a lovely place for nature tourism with a cool climate and beautiful natural landscapes. The area is easily reached by a bus line that connects the cities of Magelang and Salatiga and is located near the Kopeng village in Getasan, around 24 km away from the city of Salatiga. Around the area one finds strawberry fields, fruit and vegetable markets, and all kinds of plants and flowers. The area has already tourist facilities like restaurants and accomodation.




The Ambarawa Train Museum in the Semarang District

The train museum is located in the city of Ambarawa, Semarang district. The museum has a collection of 12 old steam locomotives from Holland, Germany and Swiss. Tourist groups which visit the place can rent a train with a capacity of 100 people and join the tourist locomotive tour from Ambarawa to Bedono, a 9,5 km trip on a cogwheeled track. During the whole trip people can enjoy the climb and turns while watching a beautiful panorama of mountains, valleys, ricefields and lakes.
