14-18 December – Ponorogo Regency
Grebeg Suro

In Syuro month (Javanese Calendar) you can see the greatest and most colorful festival called Grebeg Syuro, which is celebrated by the people in Ponorogo regency. In this festival, you will be entertained by the participants from all over Indonesia.

18 December – Kediri Regency
Traditional Ceremony Of Sri Aji Joyoboyo

The interesting ceremony is always celebrated on 1st of Syuro Month (Javanese Calendar) at the Pamenang village, Kediri regency which is believed as the place where Sri Aji Joyoboyo died. This ceremony is called Loka Muksa and is held by the Honggodento Foundation from Yogyakarta. The ceremony participants wear traditional costumes, have a long march from village hall to the place of Sri Aji Joyoboyo death place and to the Tirto Kamandanu pond.

Traditional Ceremony Of Prabu Anom

See the wonderful traditional ceremony held at Doko village, Gamping Rejo district, Kediri regency on1st Syuro Month (Javanese Calendar). This ceremony is celebrated to express thanksgiving to God because of the people's success of Kediri regency.

Suran Ceremony / Village Purification In Mount Kawi

Keep your eyes on the thanksgiving ceremony at Wonosari village, Wonosari district, Malang regency. This ritual aims to drive away the disaster from the village.

18 December – Tulungagung Regency
Sea Offering At Popoh Beach

See the wonderful ritual held at Popoh beach, Besuki district, Tulungagung regency. This celebration is s ritual to welcome the Javanese new year and express their thanks to God by throwing the offering (the steamed rice cone, fish, food crops, traditional food) into the sea. They hope after doing this ritual, they get good catching fish in the sea. You will be entertained by traditional performances.

18 December – Magetan Regency
Ledug Suro Magetan Regency, Lesung Suro Bedhug Muharram

See the celebration of Islam New Year held at the town square and Lake Sarangan, Magetan regency. It is cheered up with the parade of Lesung (rice grinding tool) large drums, mass dance, charity distribution and traditional attractions.

18-19 December – Malang Regency
Sea Offering At Balekambang Beach

Visit Labuhan Suran traditional new year's ceremony held by the society of Srigonco village, Bantur district, Malang regency. The ceremony expresses thanksgiving to God by launching offering into the sea.

25 December – Tulungagung Regency
Ulur-Ulur

Ulur-Ulur ceremony is the flower spreading in Buret lake, Sawo village, Campur Darat district, Tulungagung regency sent to the mbah Jigong Joyo as the founder at that lake. The tradition organizer is Sawo village, Ngentrong, Gedangan and Gamping. They believe that God has already given prosperity to them through the stream flow from the Buret lake. In Javanese language, Ulur-Ulur means water, then some people interpret the lake is full of water and it is used to water the farm.

29-30 December – Malang Regency
Khol Ceremony In Mount Kawi

The celebration is held by the people of mount Kawi, Wonosari village in Malang. People serve Sesajen (offering) to the tomb of Zakaria II and R. Imam Sujono considered as the greatest leaders in town. It is highlighted with local traditional music show.

31 December – Throughout The Country
New Year Celebration

New years sparkling is celebrates throughout the country and cheered up with glamorous modern and traditional performance.
